A Little About Me

Hi, my name is Eric Chalmers, and I'm a communications specialist with a background in web design, UI/UX, and eLearning integration. I'm based in Mississauga, Ontario, and my current role is as an eLearning developer at KnowledgeNow Incorporated.

Over the past couple of years, I've learned so much about building content for the web. I worked on developing websites on popular CMS platforms, collaborated with companies dedicated to creating online learning experiences, and helped reinvigorate existing University course content to make it accessible to anyone, anywhere.

I take pride in being a part of the global effort to make the internet inclusive. Accessibility is so important and in our growing online world, I aim to incorporate accessibility in every project I work on.

My Work

I've worked on several websites including the one you are on right now. Below are some links to a couple of the websites I've developed for companies I've worked for. Click the images below to see the respective websites.

Below you can also find some links and downloads to other projects and example interactive works I had a hand in.

The Digital Fluency course I helped develop for eCampus Ontario, while working at KnowledgeNow, was a massive undertaking. As the lead developer on the project I was in charge of creating much of the theme, aesthetic, and interactivity, bringing the content to life on both D2L and Moodle.

Here is a link to the Open Library version of the course (requires access to an LMS). And below are some screencaps of what the course looks like.

Graphic Design is a strong method for communicating information in an engaging way. The following links represent a couple of simple examples of me leveraging visuals to enhance the subject matter I want to convey to an audience.

Below are examples of me using comics and light comedic elements to try to convey information about science. The second link is to a short project article I wrote that leverages comic style art to communicate to the reader about declining sea life populations.

Articulate Storyline is a powerful tool for developing highly interactive courses and digital activities for users. This tab is dedicated to showcasing some of the work that I have done using the program.

360 Demo

The following link showcases a simple 360 demo created in storyline exploring the cockpit of a plane. As this is a demo, with sourcing some higher quality images you can see how this could be an amazing resource to engage users.
